Gina first came to LaVie as a scared teen, pregnant and unsure of where to go. At LaVie, she found a community of people who genuinely cared about her and her baby. Naturally, with such an experience, Gina remembered LaVie when she found herself in a desperate situation yet again.
She walked in the door carrying a whole new set of fears and very limited support, and now, she was a teen mom of two. Her lack of self-confidence, along with the great shame she carried of “another pregnancy,” forced her to think abortion was the only road for her. She left LaVie that day undecided of what to do. Despite our efforts to reach out, we did not hear from Gina for two weeks.
We gave it to God, and it turns out he was not finished with this story, not even a little bit. HIS ways are so great and so great are HIS ways! Our prayers of “Lord, give this mama courageous wisdom and protect her baby” were answered in a mighty way!
Fear and silence are tools of the enemy, chains he uses to wrap around us so tightly we cannot even think clearly. Thankfully, this mama, with faith like David when he faced Goliath, allowed God to break the lock right off that chain! She did not give in to fear and silence because of her circumstances. She reached back out and told her story of taking the abortion pill out of blind desperation. She shared how the very second that pill was swallowed; she had INSTANT regret. Her blinders were removed, and chains broken. It was time for her to take back control, and she did so courageously. LaVie had the honor of walking through it with her.
