Lindsey’s Story

Date

*Lindsey, a former patient at LaVie, walked in holding her baby.  She had a big, cheerful smile on her face and her first words were, “Hi, do you remember me”?  Of course, we remembered Lindsey!  In fact, she did not know this, but she was often thought of and even, periodically, a quick prayer was lifted up for her and her precious baby.  Life had not been easy for this young mom. She had no stable support, a baby born with health issues, no job, bills piling up and no place of her own to call home for her and her little family. She had numerous life issues and problems happening around her, and yet, all she wanted to do was stop in and introduce her new baby to LaVie; to the people who gave Lindsey her first peak at her tiny little one with a free ultrasound. That was all Lindsey was interested in doing at that moment, just stopping in to say “Hi.”  But, because LaVie is a place where all are welcomed and loved and genuinely cared for and heard, she got a lot more than that.

We had a wonderful visit that day.  The whole staff was able to meet baby and get lots of sweet baby snuggles. We offered Lindsey free diapers and wipes and asked if she had any other needs. Lindsey humbly said, “Umm, maybe a few baby outfits.”  Because our donors are so generous, we were able to hook Lindsey up with lots of baby clothes, enough for the next few months, as well.

As we walked Lindsey out to her car, we noticed that it was not in very good shape and it would need a few things to get it ready for a Montana winter.  Lindsey had no idea that stopping in that day would result in fixing the things she needed for her car, as well.  However, once again, through our generous “Fiona’s Hope” donors, we were able to prepare Lindsey’s car for the winter ahead, free of charge to her!  She was so appreciative!

We’ve been in touch with Lindsey a few times since then. We were able to get her connected with several local resources, including a mentorship program.

LaVie is so much more than a pregnancy clinic.  As Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.”  Our goal at LaVie is for everyone who walks through our doors to feel the love of Jesus, no matter who they are or what their story is.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because LOVE covers over a multitude of sins”. 1 Peter 4:8
